“The best and most comfortable cottage in Yorkshire!!!”
“Swallows Nest is a true treasure! The facilities, comfort and very tasteful architectural design (contemporary countryside style) of this holiday cottage made our stay very pleasant. We were staying with two young children, they loved the farm animals next door. It is situated on the hill side overlooking the village valley, beautiful views!! village is on walkable distance and has a biological grocery and bakery.

“Excellent Stay At The Swallows Nest”
Perfect place to stay for our holiday in England. Beautiful area to be in. The Swallows Nest had everything we needed and Sally was very helpful and wonderful to communicate with. Home was decorated with great accents and we enjoyed staying in a couple of nights to cook our own meals. Overall a fantastic time was had by our entire family.

Just stayed for one week to visit family in Halifax. With 2 small children who need room to move, separate rooms and a bath! Facilities were excellent, right down to providing baby spoons. Having direct contact with the owner was a bonus in case of any issues, though there were none. Evenings with cozy warm fires and the ability to relax in peace was fantastic. I’d have no hesitation to stay again on our next visit. Easy access to the whole surrounding area, especially proximity to the M62. Thank you Sally. We will be back!
“Delightfully cosy cottage”
We stayed in ‘the Nest’ for 3 nights at the end of May. We loved the cottage. It’s well designed, well finished and lovely and cosy. We found it a bit tricky to find on the first day, but over the course of our stay we came to realise that it’s actually quite well placed as a base to visit a number of Nothern attractions including York, Harrogate and Leeds. The cottage is well finished and very clean, with 3 good-sized rooms and a beautiful top floor living room with a log fire that shouldn’t be missed.
Thanks for a brilliant few days- we will definitely look to book the Nest again next time we venture up North!
